Upcoming festivals in Cork

You may be in Cork to study at Cork English College, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get out there and party (or eat) once in a while – check out these upcoming festivals for some inspiration for your time off!


Ballincollig Winter Music Festival

24th-29th January

This festival, held from the 24th to the 29th of January, sees the small town of Ballincollig (below) filled with céilís (traditional Irish dancing), sean-nós singing, and trad music sessions. There are also some workshops available for the musically-inclined – fancy playing the fiddle anyone?

Cask Ales and Extraordinary Brew Festival

26th – 28th January

The Franciscan Well is one of Cork’s best bars as well as a renowned brewery. For this festival, the venue will host tastings, discussions, and competitions for the beer-lovers among us. With events called ‘Meet the Brewers’ and the ‘Beoir Cask Competition’, it is sure to be a very jolly festival indeed!
