Cambridge English Exams
Cambridge English exams are among the most popular exams in the world. They are level tests and there is an exam available for each level of the CEFR

The exams test Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking and Use of English and to prepare and take one of these exams, you need to be at the correct level. After taking the exam you receive a result for that level -Pass Grade C, Pass Grade B or Pass Grade A. Cambridge English have a really useful website with lots of information and help for the exams.
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. IELTS tests Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Candidates don’t need to be a particular level to take IELTS as it assesses English Language skills at all levels. After taking the test candidates receive a score from Band 0 to Band 9. IELTS is accepted by over 9000 organisations worldwide and can be used for study, work or migration.
BULATS is the Business Language Testing Service, which is aimed specifically at students who need to improve their English for the workplace. The exam focuses on English in a business context and CEC offer the online Listening and Reading Components. The Reading and Listening module is an adaptive test, so there is not a fixed number of questions. Each question the candidate answers helps the computer to understand their level better. The test finishes when the candidate has answered enough questions to identify their level accurately.
TOEIC is the Test of English for International Communication and is used by companies and organizations worldwide to establish the level of English of their employees.
The TOEIC Listening & Reading test is a 2-hour multiple-choice test consisting of 200 questions divided into 100 questions each in listening comprehension and reading comprehension. Each candidate receives independent scores for written and listening comprehension on a scale from 5 to 495 points. The total score adds up to a scale from 10 to 990 points.
TOEIC test questions are based on real-life work settings in an international environment (meetings, travel, telephone conversations, etc). Employers worldwide use the TOEIC test to determine who can communicate effectively in English across borders and cultures with coworkers and clients.
